We are currently seeking a motivated Office Worker to join our team on a part-time basis, supporting the administration and accounting needs of the business.

Job Description:
As an Office Worker at MPE Electrical Contractors, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including bookkeeping, general office duties, and assisting with day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both Reckon and Xero accounting platforms, but prior experience in the electrical industry is not required. Flexibility is offered, as the role is part-time (16 hours per week) and the hours can be broken up to suit your schedule, with some work-from-home options available.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and Financial Administration:

  • Manage invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations using Reckon and transferring to Xero.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for the business, ensuring data is up-to-date and reconciled.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and budgeting tasks as needed.

General Office Duties:

  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails professionally.
  • Organize and maintain office records, files, and documentation.
  • Process basic payroll and HR-related tasks.
  • Assist with purchasing office supplies and ensuring the office is well-stocked.

Customer and Supplier Interaction:

  • Liaise with clients and suppliers, providing assistance and ensuring timely responses.
  • Handle general inquiries and maintain professional customer service.

Other Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to senior management as required.
  • Assist with occasional project coordination tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience using Reckon and Xero accounting platforms.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Some prior knowledge or experience in the electrical industry is preferred but not required.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
