The Opportunity
The Human Development and Community Wellbeing Team conducts research across the lifespan from conception, childhood, and youth to adulthood and the social determinants that impact and influence outcomes. The team’s focus is on the broader life course of individuals and communities within the family, school, and online environments, and includes economic evaluation of programs and outcomes.
As part of The Human Development and Community Wellbeing Team, the Project Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager, other Project Coordinators and the Project Head to provide administration support and deliver high quality research outcomes. This role will work within a growing project team that focuses on empowering fathers and father figures to improve the health and wellbeing of children.
The role will also support the broader Human Development and Community Wellbeing team. Key activities include supporting the strategic direction of the program by providing project management oversight, identifying new funding opportunities, financial management, research translation, community engagement (including coordinating and supporting volunteers, students and honorary team members) and program efficiency and sustainability.
Some of your duties will include but are not limited to:
Assist in monitoring resources within the team to ensure the achievement of deliverables outlined within research and contract agreements, whilst maintaining a high level of service for business-as-usual activities.
Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issue management to ensure successful outcomes of research projects.
Assist with the development of budgets, forecasting and financial management across multiple research projects.
Assist with legal agreements and contracts, working closely with the Institute’s Legal and Procurement teams
Assist with project planning, development, implementation and establishment of a range of research initiatives across the project.
This role will be offered on a part time basis (3 days a week) for 2 years. Full time may be considered for the right applicant.
About You
The ideal applicant for this role will have an Undergraduate degree in a health or social science related discipline (e.g., Health Promotion, Public Health, Psychology) or relevant experience. Along with this, your application must also demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
Relevant experience in an administrative, research project management, business capacity and/or clinical research role.
Superior people skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
Willingness to learn to manage budgets and grants in complex funding environments.
Highly developed research project planning, coordination, and management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and work effectively in a complex and changing environment.
Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach.
