We are seeking a Project Officer (SCHADS 4.1), and a Project Assistant (SCHADS 3.1) to lead the development of the Tenant Sustainability Service (TSS) framework. Development of the framework will be done within a culturally safe and co-design process with Aboriginal tenants and community members. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal in order to be considered for the role.
The Project Officer is responsible for coordinating focus groups, developing learning modules and case management tools, and documenting findings in culturally relevant ways, and will
- Lead all aspects of the TSS co-design process.
- Plan and facilitate focus groups and community engagement sessions.
- Ensure that development processes align with Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing.
- Document outcomes and ensure consistency with the project scope and objectives.
- Develop draft learning modules, case plans, forms, and assessment tools.
- Use case management software to track progress and report outcomes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records and provide progress updates as required.
The Project Assistant works to the Project Officer and will
- Assist with the planning and organisation of focus group sessions.
- Support communication and logistics (venue, transport, catering, materials).
- Assist with preparation of draft documents, meeting notes, and resource collation.
- Help coordinate follow-ups and feedback loops.
- Maintain records of attendance, payments, and activity logs.
- Support data entry and project documentation tasks.
- Participate in regular team meetings and planning sessions.
Our ideal candidate(s) will have experience being part of a data gathering project where face to face focus groups are key to gathering information that can meaningfully inform framework development.
Selection Criteria:
ESSENTIAL
1. Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
2. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities and understanding of cultural safety.
3. Strong facilitation (Project Officer only), communication, and engagement skills.
4. Experience in co-design, community consultation, or program development (Project Officer only)
5. Strong organisational and time management skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.
7. Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain a Police Clearance and OCHRE Card.
DESIRABLE
1. Tertiary qualifications in training and assessment, community services or similar fields.
2. Knowledge of housing and tenancy challenges in the NT.
3. Experience working in the social or community services sector.
