We’re currently on the hunt for a Cafe Manager to take the reins at our flagship venue, Mr O Wholefoods in Cessnock. This is a Monday to Friday role, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, community-driven environment, and loves coffee as much as we do.

At Mr O, it’s all about community, connection, and loving what we do. We’re proud to be the start & end of our customers’ days, serving fresh, seasonal food sourced locally, and slinging incredible coffee from Glee Coffee Roasters.

Our baristas are supported with top-tier equipment including a KB90, Robur S, EK43, and PUQ Press, ensuring quality, speed, and consistency in every cup.

We’re a young, energetic, and passionate team that thrives on teamwork, good vibes, and great service.

Your new position!

As Cafe Manager, you’ll receive full training and onboarding during your first month, working alongside our experienced team and owners. After that, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and success of Mr O.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the team to drive daily sales, service, and standards

Managing staff performance, rosters, and development

Supporting recruitment and training of new team members

Maintaining high standards in food, coffee, and presentation

Conducting store audits and driving improvement through coaching

Overseeing cash handling and general admin

Leading by example on the floor, creating a positive, energetic, and consistent team environment

What you need to succeed in this role:

Proven management experience (essential)

Strong barista experience (essential)

Confident leadership and communication skills

A love for coffee, food, and people

High energy, motivation, and a solution-focused mindset

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Flexibility with hours and responsibilities

Reliability, responsibility, and a genuine team spirit
