About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.
Delivering quality medical services to improve the physical, spiritual, cultural, social and emotional wellbeing for families. MHS is looking for people who want to make a real difference in the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
The Position
We are looking for a Community Connector who will aim to engage, inform and assist people living in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote communities through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) pathway process. The Requirements
Ability to keep a record of how participants spend their NDIS funding.
Ability to expand participants financial and plan management skills and knowledge to help them meet their goals as set out in their plans.
Ability to inform participants about their choice of service providers and how much it will cost them to use their services.
Ability to process and pay invoices from external service providers as they fall due.
Ability to implement and submit NDIS plan budget reports.
Ability to make informed and autonomous decisions pertaining to participant enquiries.
Ability to work under pressure while prioritising other role related workloads.
Demonstrated organisational and time keeping skills.
Must possess documentation and data entry skills.
A commitment to frequent training and learning new skills.
Willingness to liaise with the participants, their families, Support Coordinator, Disability Support Manager and INDIS and external service providers.
Ability to track and budget participants NDIS funding to assist them to manage and reach their plan goals.
Ethical service provision: provide skilled and ethical plan management in good faith per NDIS quality assurance standards by implementing fraud prevention measures and reporting suspicious activity internally within Mawarnkarra Health services and the NDIS Commission.
Comply with Mawarnkarra Health Service policies and procedures.
Be proactive in your professional development as a plan manager by staying informed about developments in NDIS policies and practices state wide and or nationally.
Other Requirements
Current Western Australian drivers license
COVID-19 vaccinated
Consent to undergo a WA Working With Children Check and a National Police Clearance
Current CPR certificate
Able to pass regular and random drug and alcohol testing
Experience working in bookkeeping and/or handling NDIS claims
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge and awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme [NDIS].
Ability to utilise NDIS PRODA Myplace provider portal.
Ability to utilise Xero payment software.
Ability to utilise MYP client management software.
Formal qualification in bookkeeping business management, finance or a relevant field.
CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support.
Remuneration Benefits include:
Salary of $58,811 - $65,049 p/a pro rata
11.5% Superannuation
Housing and District allowances (subject to eligibility)
Part-Time Position
