Salary Range: $33.20 - $34.61 per hour pending experience

Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan was established in 1979 and has as its foundational story the well-known "Journey to Emmaus" from the Gospel of Luke. About the role
Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan, is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Administration. This position will require 30 hours per week total, but has the capacity to be split into two positions (with 1 person working 6hrs/day, 3 days per week and the other working 6hrs/day, 2 days per week) as needed. The role is term time, part-time, permanent and will commence as soon as practicable.
We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and organised Administration Officer – Switchboard, who will bring a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a warm, professional presence to our front-line team.

As the first point of contact for phone enquiries, you will be the voice of Ryan Catholic College. Reporting to the Business Manager and working collaboratively within our Administration team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication and outstanding support across the College community.

Previous experience providing generalist administrative support
Demonstrated capacity to organise and prioritise a range of tasks and set priorities to meet deadlines in a busy office environment\
Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with switchboard duties and support to student reception including:
Manage all incoming calls via the College switchboard, ensuring prompt, courteous, and helpful service.
Relay voicemail and telephone messages accurately and in a timely manner.
Respond to general email enquiries with clarity, professionalism and warmth.
Provide accurate information to students, staff, parents and visitors with a solution-focused approach.
Provide support to student reception.
Assist at student reception and provide first aid support where necessary.
4. Provide administration support that meets the day-to-day requirements of the college including:
Deliver high-level administrative support to the College Leadership Team.
Complete accurate data entry, maintain student and staff registers, and manage confidential records.
Prepare professional documents including letters, spreadsheets, and reports.
Handle money transactions with integrity and attention to detail.
Support the coordination of internal communications for students and staff.
Scan and manage electronic document storage, ensuring files are accurately named, stored, and maintained in line with compliance and confidentiality standards.

Manage internal administration registers.
• Support the delivery of tasks associated with community events and college functions
• Any other duties as reasonably requested to support the functionality of the college
Mandatory Criteria
Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
First Aid certificate or the ability to attain one.
Desirable Criteria
5 Years administration and/or reception, preferably within an educational setting or a large organisation.
Some employees may be subject to pre-employment medical assessments during the selection process. Depending on the nature of the position, it may be necessary for successful applicants to be immunised against certain preventable diseases in order to minimise the risk of transmission.
