The Role
We are seeking a high-performing, technically skilled Sales Manager with extensive experience in the custom timber door industry. This is a leadership role requiring equal parts strategic insight, hands-on sales capability, and a passion for managing people and processes.
As our Sales Manager, you will lead a talented sales and quoting team, manage major Tier 1 trade and commercial client accounts, and work closely with internal departments to ensure exceptional client outcomes. This is a pivotal role that combines personal sales responsibility with strategic leadership to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire the sales team to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.
Personally manage high-value trade, wholesale, and commercial clients with professionalism and care.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with business goals.
Drive the adoption and improvement of sales systems, processes, and reporting tools.
Collaborate with the production, logistics, marketing and customer service teams to ensure seamless client experiences.
Identify and pursue new market opportunities, particularly within high-end residential and commercial construction.
Manage the quoting process and ensure all team members adhere to best practice and accuracy standards.
Conduct regular team training and one-on-one coaching to foster continuous improvement and professional development.
Report directly to the CEO and executive team on performance, opportunities and risks.
About You
You are an experienced sales professional with a proven track record in the custom timber door and/or timber mouldings industry. You understand the nuances of made-to-order manufacturing and thrive in a high-performance, detail-driven environment.
You are ready to step into a leadership role (or already in one) and want to be part of a company that values quality, integrity, and customer success. You’re equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to close a sale as you are mentoring a team to success.
Essential Criteria (Please Read Carefully)
Extensive experience in custom timber doors (retail, trade, wholesale, or commercial sectors).
Proven ability to manage and grow major client accounts (including Tier 1 builders and developers).
High-level communication and interpersonal skills – confident with trades, site supervisors, architects, project managers and C-suite clients.
Strong leadership, coaching and team-building capabilities.
Sales process development and strategic planning experience.
Proficient in CRM, ERP, and quoting systems – MYOB, SAP, or similar.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven.
A commitment to continuous improvement (KAIZEN) and a hands-on, solutions-focused mindset.
