Experience:

Minimum 5-10 years in freight forwarding or logistics operations, with a focus on export processes.

At least 2 years in a leadership or team leader role.

What about the role?

The Export Manager is responsible for leading the Export Operations Team, ensuring the seamless execution of sea freight, air freight, hazardous, and dry cargo shipments. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Export Manager oversees all aspects of export operations, focusing on delivering efficient, compliant, and customer-centric services. This role requires a proactive leader committed to maintaining high operational standards and fostering continuous improvement.

Experience in a similar role within the Freight Forwarding space

Experience using CargoWise One

Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Managing your time effectively

Managing a team

Thinking laterally and finding quick and effective solutions to problems

Meeting clients through MS Teams or in person

Some knowledge of Customs and Quarantine procedures

What will you do each day?

Each day can be a little different in a Supply Chain environment. You might find yourself engaging in the following activities:

Overseeing a small, dedicated Export Operations team

Liaising with a portfolio of customers, maintaining and building strong relationships

Providing visibility to key account customers via status reports, emails and phone calls

Liaising with operational teams to ensure smooth handling of shipments, ensuring any service issues are actioned and resolved

Responding to customer queries

Submitting quotations to clients, agents and other partners

Coordinate documentation for the movement of export freight

Negotiating rates with carriers and consolidators for air / sea shipments

Liaising with DAFF, customs and other relevant parties

Lodging export declarations

Ensuring all shipments are invoiced correctly

Utilising your network to look for new development opportunities
