The Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor (Level 1, 2 or 3), you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and advice on building regulations, compliance, and construction-related matters. You will be working closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, delivering high-quality assessments and inspections on a range of building projects. This is a senior role that offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact on key projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed building inspections, assessments, and surveys to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on building compliance, defects, and maintenance issues.
• Manage complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
• Produce accurate and comprehensive reports on building condition, compliance, and recommendations for rectification.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors and assisting with professional development.
• Previous experience as a senior building surveyor
• Strong time management and organisational skills in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
• Excellent report writing and communication skills

Requirements:

• Registered Building Surveyor with relevant qualifications (Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent).
• Consultancy experience is a MUST.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in building surveying, with a strong focus on compliance, inspections, and project management.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and Australian Standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software and tools for reporting and project management.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment, and demonstrate initiative in a senior role.
