About the Role:
AWX is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as an Operations Officer for Department of Primary Industries (DPI) to support with invasive species to collect and record accurate data and information, including fire ant density data, and support logistical aspects of the project including supply of treatment products to project partners and contractors.

The successful candidate will perform the following role:
• Undertake training in selected methods of measuring fire ant densities in the field.
• Conduct rapid assessment surveys of fire ant nest densities before and after aerial treatment of targeted areas.
• Use other scientific methods as required to determine fire ant densities and the possible impact of treatment.
• Maintain meticulous records of all fire ant data collected in strict accordance with established systems and processes.
• Liaise with team members and external stakeholders to support key processes and procedures including quality assurance and storage of data and records, and delivery of treatment products and equipment to landholders and aerial contractors if required.
• Work autonomously using a high level of initiative and self-motivation to assist in the efficient and effective management of the aerial treatment project and resolve issues.

Mandatory requirements for this role are:
• A current, unrestricted C' class driver's licence
• To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be an Australian citizen, hold permanent residency status, or possess a visa allowing you to work in Australia.

Highly desirable for this role:
• A licence to operate a forklift and/or an order picker will be highly regarded.
