We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our busy timber yard. In this leadership role, you'll manage a small warehouse team, supervise incoming shipments and outgoing orders, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure the safe and efficient running of the warehouse. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain high standards in productivity, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

Lead, motivate, and support a small team of warehouse operatives

Supervise and participate in day-to-day tasks including picking, packing, container unloading, and truck loading

Monitor team performance and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time

Inventory & Stock Control

Oversee regular stocktakes and ensure inventory records are up to date

Supervise the receipt and inspection of goods from suppliers and container deliveries

Ensure all incoming stock is properly recorded, labelled, and stored

Container Unloading & Receiving

Coordinate and supervise the unloading of containers

Inspect incoming goods for damage and ensure accurate and timely recording of all received stock

Assist in the physical unloading process when required

Order Fulfilment

Oversee the picking and packing of customer orders to ensure accuracy and presentation

Perform quality control checks on outgoing orders

Ensure packing standards meet customer and company expectations

Loading & Dispatch

Supervise the loading and unloading of delivery trucks

Ensure correct items are loaded for dispatch and safety protocols are followed throughout the process

Safety & Compliance

Promote and enforce a culture of safety across the warehouse team

Conduct regular safety checks and equipment audits (including forklifts)

Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements

Valid Forklift License (LF)

3–5 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Proven experience in stock control, container unloading, and order fulfilment

Strong organisational and communication skills

Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks

Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and compliance

Working Hours & Conditions

Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required during peak times

Role requires regular lifting, standing, and movement in a warehouse environment
