Wymap People is excited to be recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our client’s team in Alexandria. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about warehouse operations, compliance, and team development within a fast-paced freight and logistics environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring warehouse team members.
• Support the team in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
• Utilize and assist in training others on the Warehouse Management System (WMS); troubleshoot issues and ensure efficient warehouse organization.
• Manage daily assignments and delegate tasks effectively to warehouse staff.
• Receive goods on behalf of customers and suppliers: offload/load vehicles, manual handling, paperwork checks, weighing, measuring, booking in freight, and reporting damages or discrepancies.
• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and hand jacks safely and efficiently.
• Palletize loose and floor-loaded cargo; secure freight using stretch wrap or banding.
• Load/unload trailers and ocean containers professionally and damage-free.
• Prepare outbound shipments: match paperwork with freight, label goods, and handle ULDs.
• Verify shipment counts and conditions, accurately signing off Bills of Lading.
• Stage cargo safely and methodically within the warehouse.
• Maintain high warehouse standards of cleanliness, organization, and general housekeeping.
• Execute quality expectations including reworking or recouping freight according to SOPs and customer requirements.
• Handle logistics accounts, including picking, packing, inventory reporting, and stock checks as needed.
• Consistently exceed performance standards, including meeting and surpassing KPIs.
• Recommend and drive process improvements, problem resolution, and efficiency initiatives.
• Display strong business understanding and proactive problem-solving skills within the role.
• Assist in the development of new SOPs for new business, products, or process changes.
• Model and promote safe work practices at all times.
• Cross-train and perform duties across multiple warehouse functions including receiving, loading, picking, and shipping.
• Complete weekly bond checks and inventory stock-taking.
• Maintain site security: secure alarm systems and monitor perimeter integrity, challenging any suspicious activity.
• Build, prepare, break, and strap Unit Load Devices (ULDs) for export goods.
• Handle bonded import freight following regulations and breakdown of inbound ULDs.
• Ensure full compliance with 77G, RACA, and X-Ray Screening regulations and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:Required:

• Proven experience in a warehouse leadership, supervisory, or team lead role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, WMS systems, and logistics compliance.
• Current forklift licence (LF) – both sit-down and stand-up operation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse duties.
• Knowledge and experience with 77G, RACA, and X-Ray Screening.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to high compliance standards.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends if required.
• Willing to obtain ASIC Card and AVI20118 Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (preferred or ability to obtain).
