About the role

Pizzateca Lupa, South Melbourne's new all day Roman Caffe, is seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef to join our talented culinary team. As a Demi Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Kitchen Team and contributing to the creation of our delicious, authentic Italian dishes. This is a casual position, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to work in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of a variety of pizzas, pasta dishes, and other Italian specialties
• Maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
• Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Participating in menu development and testing new recipes
• Providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive team environment

What we're looking for

• 1-2 years of experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or kitchen environment
• A passion for Italian cuisine and a commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
• Strong knife skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the kitchen brigade
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field
