people2people are currently hiring an experienced HR Advisor (VPS4) for a State Government Department. This is a fixed term contract until February 2026, offering an immediate start for the right candidate. Located in Melbourne CBD 3000, with hybrid work arrangements on offer.

Duties:

• Be the first-level contact for internal staff and stakeholders, providing information and support on HR-related matters.
• Provide administrative support across end to end recruitment, including onboarding, offboarding, writing Position Descriptions, drafting job advertisements, shortlisting, creating interview guides, sitting on panel interviews, leading end to end recruitment, conducting pre-employment checks
• Assist with re-classifying jobs and performance related issues as required
• Monitor and respond to all HR queries through the HR inbox

About you:

• Must have previous experience in a HR Advisor position
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, and the ability to interpret policies and enterprise agreement provisions
• Experience working within State Government is highly regarded but not essential
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a National Police check
