An opportunity exists to contribute to the Western Australian environment and broader Western Australian projects with NRMWA, the peak body for Natural Resource Management (NRM) in WA.

NRMWA works with member NRMs to complete projects that extend beyond regional NRM boundaries, addressing climate change, feral animals, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, and threatened species, drawing on a wealth of grassroots knowledge and a capacity to build efficient networks with industry, research and government - partnering with farmer and community groups to improve sustainable agriculture, biodiversity and social outcomes across Western Australia,

NRMWA requires a new CEO to work with the CEOs of member NRMs to develop and implement a new strategy.

The NRMWA CEO will be responsible for:

• Facilitating the documentation of strategy and implementation programs.
• Advocacy and engagement with government, industry, and the community.
• Working with the board to develop NRMWA and member activity in WA.
• Opening doors and exploring investment opportunities.
• Working with the Chair to maximise board effectiveness and the return to members.

The successful applicant will need to have:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A demonstrated capability to engage with member and stakeholder groups.
• Strong advocacy skills and be politically astute.
• The capacity to identify and work with a team to secure new funding.
• An ability to successfully drive and complete projects.
• Sound research and analytical skills.
• Government, philanthropic and industry engagement experience.

Experience in the NRM space is not essential, but an interest and passion for the environment and agriculture in WA are most important.

Working from home is accommodated. The initial offer is for a 12-month performance-based contract, with a remuneration of $120,000 (salary and superannuation) for three days per week. A consultant arrangement is acceptable.

This is a ground-up position, and the successful applicant will be well placed to develop the role and its contribution to members and the community.
