The Job…..

Reporting directly to the Collections Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the broader collections function by managing a portfolio of overdue consumer mortgage accounts, up to 80 days in arrears. Your responsibilities will include:

• Proactively contacting customers to recover outstanding debts while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach
• Negotiating and establishing sustainable payment arrangements tailored to individual customer circumstances
• Monitoring ongoing payment plans to ensure compliance and timely follow-up where necessary
• Collaborating with internal departments such as Customer Service, Credit, and Legal, as well as external stakeholders, to resolve customer queries
• Meeting individual KPIs and targets within a fast-paced and supportive team environment.

You…..

To be successful in this role, you will bring a solid foundation of experience along with a proactive and customer-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 18 months’ experience in collections, within the financial services sector
• Prior experience managing overdue mortgage accounts is highly regarded, though not essential
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations in a professional and empathetic manner
• A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and follow-up
• A results-driven attitude with a focus on meeting targets while delivering a positive customer experience
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
