Status: Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Department: Biochemistry/Haematology

Laboratory: Lenah Valley / Battery Point

About The Role:

• Specimen reception and data entry duties
• Perform standard calibrations
• Process and interpret data
• Analyse data and report results
• Use laboratory application software
• Apply quality systems & continuous improvement processes
• Prepare and perform sample testing
• Maintain equipment & prepare reagents

The hours will vary to meet the operational & organisational requirements and will include rostered shifts Monday to Friday. Currently the shifts are scheduled as week blocks of 7am – 3pm and 3pm – 11pm.

Selection Criteria:

1. Appropriately qualified with previous experience in Haematology or Biochemistry a distinct advantage
2. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
3. The ability to work and positively contribute within a team environment
4. The ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
5. An understanding of quality control techniques
6. Proficient and self-motivated
7. Committed to service excellence
8. Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis at the time of application
