Reporting through to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Develop and maintain accounting and NSW Treasury compliance policies for accurate reporting.
• Create processes and controls to ensure departmental compliance with NSW Treasury policies.
• Provide guidelines and resources for applying accounting and NSW Treasury policies.
• Lead efforts to document compliance and complete necessary reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in policies, procedures, and reporting.
• Advise Finance on accounting policies, standards, and controls.
• Support broader Financial Control and Finance activities as required.

You…..
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following areas:

• 3+ years' experience as a Financial Accountant.
• Degree in accounting or finance discipline and working towards CPA/CA qualifications.
• Public sector finance experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge and experience in applying Australian accounting standards and NSW Treasury policies.
• Proven experience in identifying financial accounting risks and implementing effective governance, accounting policies, processes, and controls.
