Accounting and Treasury Policy Compliance Manager

Rate: $800 per day + super
Located in Parramatta SQ + WFH

Role details below:

• Lead the development of fit for purpose accounting and NSW Treasury compliance policies to facilitate accurate financial reporting and business financial decisions.
• Lead the development of processes, controls and reporting requirements to facilitate departmental compliance with relevant NSW Treasury accounting and compliance policies.
• Lead the development of guidelines and resources to enable appropriate accounting and NSW Treasury policy application.
• Oversee processes to obtain and document evidence of the department’s compliance with relevant NSW Treasury policies, and completion of compliance reporting to meet NSW Treasury policy requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement of policies, procedures, guidelines, controls and reporting processes to suit the needs of the department, and to reflect new or modified accounting standards and NSW Treasury accounting policies.
• Lead provision of support and advice to Finance on the application of the department’s accounting policies and procedures, accounting standards, NSW Treasury accounting policies, and the department’s related processes and controls (in conjunction with the Statutory Reporting Manager).

You need the following:

• Knowledge and experience in applying Australian accounting standards and NSW Treasury accounting and reporting policies and requirements
• Demonstrated significant experience leading operational accounting and reporting activity in a large complex organisation
• High level of experience with financial accounting and reporting risk identification and implementation of fit for purpose financial governance, processes and controls
• Degree in accounting or finance discipline and membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting association.
