We are seeking a friendly and energetic Café Assistant to join our team at The Views, Heidelberg. In this role, you’ll assist in providing an exceptional café experience for residents, family members, and visitors. Your contributions will help create a welcoming environment, where good food, great service, and community spirit thrive.
This is a part-time, permanent role working Monday – Friday, 60 hours per fortnight. 9:30am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, including specialty coffee and café menu items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming café environment for residents and visitors.
- Assist with daily food service operations, including setting up, cleaning, and ensuring food is presented beautifully.
- Handle cash, use EFTPOS, POS, and manage daily sales and takings report.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly and respectfully to the needs of residents, family members, and staff.
- Ensure food safety guidelines are followed, including temperature checks and cleaning duties.
To help you achieve this, ideally you’ll have:
- Experience in hospitality or food service in a fast paced environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Barista cert, Food Safety)
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- A friendly, patient, and energetic attitude with a passion for helping others
