What G4S can offer you
Join a leading global security and facilities services company: We operate in over 90 countries globally + have several sites and 2000 staff across Australia.
A varied role: Get stuck into various projects, get exposure to the EBA negotiation process, and provide WR advice to our HR Business Partners with support from Alex.
Hybrid work available: Work 2 days from our Melbourne CBD Office, and 3 days from home.
A great culture: Join a large multidisciplinary, collaborative and supportive HR function.
About the role and team
Reporting to the Workplace Relations Manager (Alex), you'll join a small, supportive Workplace Relations (WR) team of 2, and join our wider HR team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. With support from Alex, we're looking for someone who is keen to get stuck into some key Workplace Relations projects and support our HR Business Partners with WR Advice. We support contracts across Australia, with a mix of security, custodial, and road safety contracts and a variety of Awards and Agreements depending on the contract.
We're looking for someone who has a little bit of experience in a HR role and has had exposure to Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements who wants to build their career in or learn more about workplace relations rather than generalist HR. The role offers development and variety, and you'll get exposure to bargaining and EBA negotiation.
In the role you will:
Review, edit and create internal G4S Policies and Procedures.
Assist Alex to update employment contracts and clauses for the Talent Acquisition Team to use.
Develop consistent redundancy and disciplinary processes.
Create a state-based Fair Jobs Code that can be used when the business bids for new opportunities.
Respond to workplace relations queries from our HR Business Partners, with support from Alex for the more complex ones.
Assist with the administration of bargaining and EBA negotiation, including note taking and memo distribution.
What we're looking for
An interest in Workplace Relations and a desire to develop in this area
Some work experience in a HR role (experience in a blue-collar environment is highly desirable, but not essential)
Some experience working with Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, or a related discipline (desirable)
The recruitment process
G4S runs a staged recruitment process which includes:
Applying online with a CV + Cover Letter
Shortlisted applicants will have a quick phone call with our Talent Advisor, Allegra, to learn more about the role
An interview with the hiring team, including our Workplace Relations Manager, Alex
A second-round interview with our HR Director, Neonie
Background checks, including a National Police Check and reference checks
