Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is looking for a curious and collaborative individual with a passion for social impact to join as an Associate Advisor.
At BIT, Associate Advisors are the junior members of our team; starting their careers in behavioural science consultancy. This opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to see real world policy impact through projects with government agencies, not-for-profits and philanthropic organisations.
This role is a Full-Time Permanent position based in Sydney with a hybrid working pattern.
What makes a great Associate Advisor?
Strong writing skills and ability to translate academic work for non-academic audiences,
A good understanding of the behavioural science literature and how it can be applied to help solve policy problems,
Some experience conducting research using a range of methods and using data to answer questions,
Basic understanding of statistics, trial design and quantitative and qualitative analysis,
An ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines,
Strong verbal communication and people skills,
The ability and willingness to learn and develop skills,
An Honours degree, Masters or PhD in a relevant subject area (including, but not limited to: Economics, Psychology, Public Policy, Research Methods/Statistics, Anthropology), and;
1-2 years of previous professional work experience is desirable.
What does an Associate Advisor do?
The successful candidate can expect to:
Assist in the design and delivery of projects across a broad range of policy areas,
Contribute to the design and implementation of randomised controlled trials, online trials and other forms of evaluation,
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, including surveys, interviews, participant observation and desktop research,
Write draft reports, policy papers and proposals,
Prepare a range of materials, including literature reviews, journey and process maps, presentations and workshop materials, and;
Develop your behavioural science knowledge and consulting skills with the support of your local management and global experts.
