We’re looking for a dependable, detail-focused Accounts Officer to join our team in Innisfail. This is a key position within our Finance Department at Trans North Bus & Coach, part of the wider Donric Group, a well-respected name in passenger transport services across Queensland and Victoria.

About the Role

Working closely with our General Manager and Group Financial Controller, this role supports the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

You'll take ownership of tasks like:

• Payroll processing including PAYG, Superannuation, and Payroll Tax
• Accounts Payable and Receivable – processing invoices, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling transactions
• Bank reconciliations, petty cash, credit card transactions and staff reimbursements
• Preparation of BAS, Payroll Tax and WorkCover returns
• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Supporting compliance with financial and legislative requirements
• General data entry and finance admin
• Communicating clearly with the GM and external stakeholders as required

You’ll be given the space to manage your work independently, while being supported by a collaborative finance team at the group level.

About You

You’re someone who brings a practical mindset and calm, professional presence. You might have worked in similar roles across transport, logistics, admin, agriculture, local government or small-medium business. You don’t need to be a recent graduate — we genuinely value life and work experience.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Proven experience in finance, accounts, or payroll
• Confidence using MYOB, Microsoft Excel, and standard office systems
• Experience using FoundU or similar Employee management systems
• Experience using CoachManager or similar Transport and Logistics Software
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to work both independently and within a small team
• Good communication skills — written and verbal
• A practical understanding of ATO, BAS, Super and payroll compliance
• A steady, solutions-focused approach to your work
• A formal qualification in finance or accounting is great, but not essential if you bring real-world experience
