We are looking for a full-time Accounts & Administration Officer to join our friendly and professional team.

About us

We are a family-owned construction and maintenance company that has been working with Adelaide businesses for more than 30 years, seeking an experienced accounts officer. Our core focus is property maintenance, commercial fit-outs, and construction management.

The role

The position of Accounts & Administration Officer is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing general support to the Finance Director, Managing Director and department heads.

Working full-time hours, and as part of a friendly and supportive team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate and timely delivery of customer invoices, depending on the contractual arrangements in place, and ensuring invoices are completed by months end
  • Assist with the accounts receivable process
  • Debtor management, negotiating payment schedules where appropriate
  • Data processing of accounts payable invoices relating to different departments
  • Preparation of prompt and scheduled payments to suppliers
  • Minor analysis of Work Order and Job Cost profitability to ensure all costs have been captured and all revenue has been accounted for as per the quote and/or contract
  • Support with employee payroll
  • Manage bank transactions, reconciling statements, and processing payments
  • Generate financial reports and summaries for management review
  • Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Provide general administration support to the business

About you

  • Proven work experience as an Accounts Officer or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and financial systems, preferably XERO
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
