Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Service Manager.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnose, and repair a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment in Melbourne and outer Melbourne Victoria including on occasion regional work as directed by the Service Manager.
• Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime and optimize functionality.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Assist colleagues in the service department in all matters relating to technical support and daily operation of the service department.
• Learn to operate the service department TSM system for paperwork.
• Maintain and update manuals and technical information.
• Follow up on repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Complete PM paperwork and prepare quotations for corrective maintenance.
• Maintain spare parts of van stock.
• Supervise, oversee and/ or installation of equipment locally and interstate.
• Advise and discuss with management outstanding issues with equipment, customers, and maintenance matters.

Requirements

• Fully qualified or restricted electrical trade qualification is the minimum requirement. Keen 4th year apprentice may also apply.
• Experience as a commercial kitchen appliance repair technician or a similar role, including knowledge of refrigeration systems will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
