Senior Operational Accountant

Salary: $165,000- $175,000 + super + 15% bonus
Location: Site travel required

About the Role:
Join a leading mining company as a Senior Operational Accountant, where you will play a key role in financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to contribute to operational success through financial expertise and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, conduct variance analysis, and provide key insights to management.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Work closely with operational teams to develop accurate budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Cost Control & Operational Accounting: Oversee cost allocations, CAPEX tracking, and inventory valuations.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to IFRS and industry regulations, working closely with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, operations, and leadership teams to optimize financial performance.
• Process Improvement: Seek opportunities to streamline financial processes through technology and automation.

What We’re Looking For:

• CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in mining.
• Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO modules) is essential.
• Site experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and relevant industry regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
