Originally established in 1882 and reimagined after a community-led rebuild in 2016, we pride ourselves on offering great food, warm hospitality, and a space for locals and visitors to connect.

We are now looking for a passionate Chef to lead our kitchen and drive culinary excellence!

About the Role

As Chef, you’ll be the creative in our kitchen, overseeing menu development, food quality, and kitchen operations. Your creativity, leadership, and expertise will shape our dining experience and make Buchan Caves Hotel a go-to destination for great food.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Menu Development – Design seasonal menus and create signature dishes.
• Kitchen Leadership – Manage and train kitchen staff to maintain high-quality service.
• Stock & Cost Control – Oversee ordering, stock rotation, and minimise wastage.
• Food Safety & Compliance – Ensure adherence to HACCP and food safety standards.
• Customer Satisfaction – Craft delicious, high-quality meals that keep customers coming back.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to train and inspire a team.
• Expertise in menu planning, cost control, and kitchen management.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP) and dietary requirements.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends & public holidays.
• A passion for using local produce, great food and a desire to be part of a historic community venue.
