ABOUT THE ROLE
The Chef will oversee all aspects of food management at the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Residential Rehabilitation, the Therapeutic Community. The role will deliver hospitality level training to residents within the community whilst also providing nutritionally, high quality meals. The Therapeutic Community is located at Greta Road, Wangaratta. The centre is a 30-bed facility providing a Therapeutic Community model residential program for adults experiencing harm and significant problems relating to their AOD use.
The Chef will provide quality catering services, which meet the needs of residents, visitors, staff and the operational requirements of the Therapeutic Community.
A typical day might look like…
- Plan, prepare & deliver a range of meals including lunch, dinner & morning tea
- Ensure dietary & cultural appropriateness of all meals & food
- Prepare meal plans in collaboration with residents
- Place online orders & shop for supplies
- Perform stock taking duties
- Maintain cleanliness & hygiene of kitchen & all appliances
- Maintain documentation as required
ABOUT YOU
Bring your passion to the table and we will provide the beautifully designed open-plan kitchen and tools to showcase your talents. You will also have:
- Supervisory experience in training, mentoring and leading a kitchen team
- Ordering and monitoring supply experience
- A great sense of humour and a positive disposition
- Relevant trade qualifications
- Knowledge of a range of different cuisines and cooking styles
- Good listening and communication skills
- Strong knowledge and experience of Work Health & Safety, food safety and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in a similar capacity is desired however not essential
REMUNERATION
Victorian Stand Alone Community Health Services (Health and Allied Services, Managers & Administrative Officers) Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026.
Classification Food Services Supervisor $33.86/hr plus super
