We are excited to announce an opening within one of our amazing services for the highly sought after role of Educational Leader.

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and inspiring Early Childhood Educator to take on the Educational Leader role at Sesame Lane.

We value our Educational Leaders and understand how necessary it is to have time with Educators as they program, time on the floor supporting and guiding, time to complete your own paperwork as well as time and opportunities to develop your leadership and mentoring skills. For this reason, our Educational Leaders are not assigned to one room and only support in ratio as required. This role forms part of the services Leadership Team and you will work collaboratively with the Service Manager to achieve exceptional learning outcomes for children and educators. Our Educational Leaders are also supported by an Educational Mentor and Area Manager.

This is a highly sort after position and you will receive a high level of support and training in the Educational Leader.

As the Educational Leader you will

  • Inspire, motivate, guide and support Educators to progress the Service's excellence in practice in partnership with the Leadership team.
  • Support Educators to assess each child’s learning and development in relation to the approved learning framework and other contemporary theories.
  • Support educator’s to critically reflect on each child’s learning and development and on their own pedagogy as part of everyday practice.
  • Provide guidance and support to the service for Assessment and Rating and prepare employees for Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Assist and develop clear goals for our employees regarding the efficiency of the business and the educational program.
  • Ensure that the service complies with best practices, including curriculum development, staff professional development, administrative procedures and cooperating with families and the community.
  • Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day operations.
  • Create a balance with well above the required non-contact time to complete your role.

Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • A Growth Mindset,
  • A love of learning,
  • Ability in developing and maintaining positive relationships with children families and colleagues,
  • Suitable qualifications for the role, Hold a Diploma or higher and/or (ACECQA assessed qualifications). Candidates with Bachelor qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards and the QKLG,
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills,
  • Current Working With Children's Check - Blue Card,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A sense of fun and willingness to think outside the box.
  • An ability to support online learning journey tools (eg StoryPark).
  • Passion for implementing sustainable practices.
