Dr Ahmed Goolam is a busy Urological Surgeon who is based in Wahroonga. Dr Goolam’s team are looking to upsize in order to continue providing exceptional care to his patients. We are looking for a part time medical secretary, 5 days per fortnight.

Responsibilities include:

Handle incoming calls and welcome patients into the practice in a professional and friendly manner

Provide administrative support to medical staff, including surgeons and nurses

Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

Schedule and manage patient appointments and surgery bookings

Liaise with other doctors, hospitals, laboratories and medical representatives

Patient billing and processing of payments

Process Medicare, Eclipse online patient claims, iCare and DVA billing

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow

Maintain professional presentation of consulting rooms

Requirements:

Proven experience as a medical secretary / receptionist

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational abilities with acute attention to detail

Be driven and interested in improving admin processes

Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively

Professional appearance and demeanour

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Knowledge of medical software, Genie preferred, but not essential

Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
