About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Blue NRG as an Energy Risk Analyst. In this full-time position based in Melbourne, Victoria, you will play a key role in supporting the company's energy trading and risk management function.

What you'll be doing

• Perform detailed analysis and modelling of energy market dynamics, price trends, and risks
• Develop and implement statistical models to forecast energy prices and assess potential risks
• Monitor and report on energy market activity, identifying emerging trends and potential impacts on the business
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's energy risk management strategies
• Support the execution of energy trading activities, providing real-time market intelligence and risk analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on risk management initiatives

What we're looking for

• Degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics
• Minimum 3 years of experience in energy markets, trading, or risk analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights
• Proficiency in the use of analytical tools and software, such as Excel, R, or Python, for data manipulation and modelling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Understanding of energy market dynamics, regulations, and risk management principles
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
