About the role:
Council’s Property Service ensures that our Commercial Property and Property Investment portfolios achieve financial outcomes for Council and the community, by providing equitable access, fit-for-purpose facilities, activated community venues and a sustainable operating model.
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Manager with a strong background in commercial property development, sales, acquisition, leasing and negotiations. The ideal candidate will also have a proven record of people leadership, including mentoring, developing and managing high-performing teams.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in commercial property development, sales, acquisition, leasing and negotiation, together with a thorough understanding of property and real estate markets in the commercial property industry;
- Registered Real Estate Licensee in NSW or the holder of a Property or Planning qualification
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements, valuation principles and legal contracts related to commercial property matters;
- Extensive experience in dealing with external parties such as instructing solicitors, valuers, agents, surveyors, developer and other statutory bodies;
- As this role undertakes the responsibilities of Native Title Manager, prior experience on Native Title matters across local government is desirable;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write high-level reports and interpret complex legal documentation.
