About the Role
As a Youth Program and Engagement Officer, you’ll play a key role in crafting, launching, and evaluating exciting programs and initiatives that provide young people with dynamic, accessible learning and development opportunities. In this position, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing to life vibrant programs at the brand-new Dordaak Kepup Library and Youth Innovation Hub – a space dedicated to inspiring creativity, innovation, and growth. What will you be doing?
• Creating & Leading: Develop and deliver youth programs that are exciting, engaging, and impactful. From workshops to activities, your creativity will know no bounds!
• Building Connections: Forge strong relationships with young people and encourage their active participation. You’ll be their go-to person for guidance, support, and FUN!
• Engagement & Collaboration: Use your skills to create positive relationships with stakeholders and service providers to attract them to deliver or participate in programs
• Making Change: Your efforts will directly contribute to empowering youth, helping them unlock their potential and get involved in their communities.
• Measuring Success: Assess and evaluate program and service performance to identify improvements, celebrate achievements, and ensure continued success.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Relevant experience in a similar role, where you've successfully contributed to the growth and development of youth programs.
- A strong background in developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, plans, and initiatives that make a real impact.
- A talent for building and maintaining strong partnerships with community groups, service providers, and key stakeholders to create collaborative success.
- Leadership experience, with a proven ability to inspire and guide teams towards shared objectives.
- Intermediate project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects while staying organised and on track.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines with ease.
- Advanced customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering excellent support and solutions.
- A solid understanding of literacy and learning models, and the ability to apply these frameworks in youth programs and education frameworks.
- Intermediate research and analysis skills, with the ability to assess and adapt strategies based on data and feedback.
- Intermediate negotiation and influencing skills, to drive positive outcomes and foster cooperation.
