It’s a bold statement, but it’s true, just ask our amazing young people who use our range of youth services across WA. They’ll probably tell you about ‘Y-Time’ outreach and ‘Drumbeat’ in Armadale (Perth, WA). It’s our funky series of youth programs co-designed with youth for our young people aged 11- to 18 years old.
Now that we’re in full swing with program activities we’re looking for Youth Engagement Officers who’s keen to hang with us and to join our new Friday night engagement program in Armadale! This role is all about connecting with young people at risk. If you have experience in justice, working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, behaviour management, or sports, we’d love to hear from you! Check out your awesome perks below.

What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to support our new Friday night sports diversionary program. You’ll work with and support young people who have engaged or are at risk of engaging in the justice system. You’ll assist Senior Youth Workers with program facilitation, engaging with young people, cooking meals, providing transportation to and from the program. Let’s not forget those fun admin tasks such as shift reports, data entry and maybe a bit of program planning. There are also other opportunities to support some of our other youth engagement programs across the metro region. At the end of shift, you’ll probably feel chuffed. You’ve just made another positive impact to our young people lives!
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Have a Cert III (or greater or currently studying) in Youth Work, Education, Community Work, Social Work or other relevant discipline and equivalent experience
- Can demonstrate the ability to engage with young people and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Are available to work some afternoons during the week and some evenings– till 1am on a Friday.
- Hold a current C class driver’s license.
- Can obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
- Can obtain a HLTAID011 First Aid certificate
- Can obtain a Food Handling/Safety Certificate (Desirable)
