The Opportunity
WAMMCO International, a leading meat processing company, is seeking an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Co-ordinator to join their team in Katanning, Western Australia. As the Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient conditioning and dispatch of products, ensuring the smooth operation of this key function within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the effective control, supervision, technical induction, and training of all leading hands, and employees in the conditioning, storage and dispatch areas.
- Ensure minimum DAFF and AUS-MEAT standards are maintained by all employees.
- Ensure employees are aware of their responsibilities of a duty of care to themselves and fellow employees, and take all possible steps to prevent accidents and minimise hazards to occupational health and safety.
- Liaise with the production Manager on aspects of planned and future storage, production and load out requirements.
- Liaise with employees, safety representatives, and Personnel Officer on safety concerns and act in accordance with Group Policy and Procedures.
- Maintain good and effective industrial relations with employees.
- Liaise with the Plant Engineer in relation to general and preventative maintenance.
- Liaise with contractors and Perth based shipping team on delivery arrangements.
- Ensure all outward goods are scanned, port marked (if required) and relevant documentation is generated and forwarded to the appropriate Administration member, and balance weekly inventory of stocks. The development, implementation and maintenance of systems that ensure the required level of detail and accuracy associated with this activity must be ongoing.
- Be proactive in developing job rotation systems for employees.
- Any other such duties as requested by the Plant Manager and Production Manager
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience (5+ years) in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing, logistics or related industry
- Strong understanding of product conditioning and dispatch operations, including familiarity with relevant equipment and processes
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve issues quickly
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Proficient in Export Documentation
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and quality standards
- Adaptable and flexible, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Computer literate
