3-month part time Customer Service Officer opportunity to work for a large council in the northern suburbs across 3 locations | $36 per hour

• Previous contact centre experience essential | Part time opportunity 20-25 hours per week, 5 hours a day 4-5 days a week
• Represent a Local Government authority providing excellent service to members of the community
• Across 3 locations, own transport required| 6-month temporary opportunity |

You will be working in a council located in the northern suburbs. You will work as a team to undertake frontline call centre and cashiering/administrative tasks in order to achieve the delivery of effective and quality Customer Service across 3 locations. You will be required to travel between four sites—Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Mickleham North, and Sunbury—once training is completed. The role will primarily involve phone and email support, with occasional coverage of the front counters. Applicants must be flexible to start between 9 and 11 AM and be available to work a 5-hour shift.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing accurate and timely information to members of the public via telephone and email
• Supporting and maintaining a positive image of the Council to members of the public through professional standards of personal presentation and through the provision of services/advice in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Delivering service to a high-volume call centre while contributing to the Key Performance Indicators required.

To be successful you will have:

• Experience in both face-to-face and high-volume telephone customer services
• Demonstrated experience within a call centre environment including experience in using a customer management or request tracking application.
• Experience working in an administrative environment with a strong customer and team focus
• Great communication skills, written and verbal
• Language other than English will be an advantage
• Positive and proactive attitude towards work
