Role Overview:

The Social Support Group (SSG) Team Leader, alongside the Manager – Social Support Group, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the SSG centres. It is their key responsibility to ensure that all activities and services meet the required standards and cater to the needs of the clients attending. This role involves close collaboration with various staff members and external parties to maintain a high standard of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Respond to client cancellations and attendance issues, liaising with clients, their representatives, or Case Managers. Escalate issues to the SSG Manager.
  • Ensure clients' needs are met on all levels (physical, cognitive, etc.) and liaise with client representatives as required.
  • Assist in day-to-day activities with clients and accurately document their care/progress daily on Client Profiles.

Staff Coordination:

  • Liaise with SSG assistants regarding daily activities, meal breaks, and the setup of the day room.
  • Coordinate with the Centre COVID Cleaner regarding sanitisation and other related tasks.
  • Work with the SSG Manager on staffing requirements and purchasing necessary equipment for the centre.

Meal and Dietary Management:

  • Liaise with kitchen staff to plan menus for culturally relevant events.
  • Monitor meals provided by the centre to ensure they meet dietary and cultural standards as discussed by CO.AS.IT. Escalate any issues to the SSG Manager.
  • Provide daily client numbers and dietary requirements to kitchen staff by 9:15 am.

Administrative Duties:

  • Complete and report any incidents to the SSG Manager in accordance with reporting procedures.
  • Email client and staff attendance to the SSG Manager.
  • Organise daily taxi runs and cancellations, and email taxi runs to drivers as required.
  • Maintain daily client attendance records and collect/monitor attendance fees using Eftpos.

To best support our clients, we are looking for people with:

  • Allied health profession or another relevant community qualification e.g. Certificate IV, Diploma in Aged Care or Community Development.
  • Experience in a group social support setting and/or with aged clients is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of community care and a dedication to delivering high standards for clients and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and their families and be responsive to their needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills where the clients’ best interests are the focus.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to the evolving needs of clients.
  • Understanding of Italian culture or language (desirable, but not essential).
  • Right to work in Australia.

Part Time 3 days per week - Mandatory Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
