Reporting to the Support Worker Manager, the Support Worker Team Leader works in a small team providing leadership, guidance, and coordination to a team of 150+ Support Workers across a state-wide/regional area. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality client care, staff compliance, and operational efficiency.
About the Role
As a Support Worker Team Leader, you will work with the Support Worker Manager to:
- Support a geographically dispersed team, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Provide leadership and coaching, fostering a strong and engaged workforce while maintaining professional boundaries - Manage communication predominantly via phone and email with staff at all levels, requiring strong written and verbal skills.
Coordinate workforce planning, including availability, leave management, and recruitment support. - Monitor staff performance, facilitating performance reviews, providing feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
- Make informed decisions within the framework of policies and procedures while also taking direction and following through on required actions.
About You
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a community, disability, or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, coach, and develop team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in phone and email correspondence.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, problem-solve, and make informed decisions.
- A solid understanding of professional boundaries and ethical practice.
- Confidence in using client management systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Holds a valid National Police check, Working with Vulnerable People Registration and a drivers licence.
