Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be at the heart of our communications strategy, overseeing media relations, branding, marketing, and social media, all while ensuring our messages align with our values and vision. Successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits, including:

• Competitive annual salary of $103,826 - $116,069 per annum and 11% superannuation
• Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment
• Darwin City or Nhulunbuy based
• 6 weeks annual leave (if Nhulunbuy-based) or 5 weeks annual leave (if Darwin-based) + 17.5% leave loading

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region.
Essential Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is committed to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, with a solid understanding of the challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings. The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in media, communications, journalism, marketing, or digital marketing, along with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. You should be skilled in clear and effective communication, both written and oral, and able to convey complex information simply. A background in graphic design and/or desktop publishing, along with project management experience and the ability to handle sensitive information independently, is essential. Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills will also be key in this role.
