This is a Fixed Term opportunity from an ASAP start to 3 October 2025.

About the Division
The Academy Services Division provides a range of specialist services to colleagues across the Academy, and to program participants (potential and current) to ensure high quality professional learning, and an optimal experience for our stakeholders. The Division's four specialist areas include learning design, data evaluation and evidence, communications and marketing, and participant and program support.
The Communications & Marketing (CM) team is responsible for supporting the Academy objective to influence public perceptions of the profession, for managing the Academy brand and its channels, and connecting participants into relevant programs through targeted marketing and communications.
About the Role
Are you a strategic and passionate communications leader looking to make an impact in the education sector? An opportunity exists to join the Academy as the Manager, Communications and Marketing to lead a team of communications, digital and marketing experts to deliver on the organisation's objectives.
As the manager, will be responsible for leading the CM team to create transformative communications and marketing strategies that raise public awareness of the capability and status of school leaders and teachers, build brand, and support registrations into professional learning programs. This includes:
- Leading an Academy wide communications and marketing strategy and providing specialist expertise in creative and impactful communications practices.
- Leading a high performing team to deliver exceptional service, providing insight to opportunities for improvement in processes and system enhancements
- Effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities for alignment of activities that offer mutual benefit.
- Project management and oversight of planning resulting in the production of audience appropriate content across multiple platforms and channels to drive engagement.
- Utilising evidence, data and metrics to inform effective business planning and reporting.
- Acting as a thought leader and expert advisor on communications, marketing and digital best practice.

You identify issues and create mutually beneficial partnerships that support the objectives of an organisation, providing expert advice on communications strategies to influence target audiences.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively to deliver outcomes, altering or adopting new strategies where existing approaches are not delivering effectively against objectives. You identify opportunities to work with other teams, sharing knowledge and information.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience working in a dynamic, high performing communications or marketing function in a large or complex organisation.
- Proven experience developing and leading high-performing teams to build capability and culture and achieve outcomes.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of communications, marketing and digital best practice and trends, including digital and traditional channels, as well as media engagement.
- Proven ability to strategically engage and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels through effective communication.
- High-level problem-solving capability to resolve or escalate issues or queries.
- A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or similar.
