Berengarra School is an independent, not-for-profit secondary school for students with social and emotional disabilities who require an innovative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. As we enter an exciting growth phase, we are looking for a passionate, results-driven leader to shape our marketing, communications, and advancement strategy.

Why This Role is Unique?

As the Marketing, Communications, and Advancement Manager, you will be a key member of the Leadership Team, playing a pivotal role in shaping Berengarra’s public image, stakeholder engagement, and growth initiatives.

With the implementation of a new school-wide teaching and learning modeland plans to build a state-of-the-art campus in Bayswater by 2027, this role offers a unique opportunity to tell our story, connect with our community, and make a real difference.

Your work will directly contribute to raising awareness, increasing engagement, and securing vital funding to support our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Marketing & Communications Strategy – Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives that highlight Berengarra’s unique educational approach.
• Brand Management & PR – Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels and liaise with media and community partners.
• Content Creation & Digital Marketing – Manage the school’s website, social media platforms, and digital campaigns to engage stakeholders and enhance visibility.
• Community Engagement & Fundraising – Lead donor engagement and fundraising initiatives to support the school’s ongoing growth and expansion.
• Stakeholder Relationships – Foster strong relationships with students, families, staff, alumni, community partners, and donors to drive engagement.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in marketing, PR, communications, or fundraising (ideally within an educational or not-for-profit environment).
• Strong storytelling, content creation, and campaign management skills.
• Experience managing digital marketing, SEO, and social media strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A passion for supporting students with diverse needs in an inclusive school environment.

About the School

Berengarra School is an independent, not-for-profit, co-educational secondary school for students who have had significant difficulties in mainstream education settings. All students who attend Berengarra School have social and/or emotional disability, that have contributed to their difficulties remaining engaged in education.

Berengarra School has two campuses, the Box Hill Campus with 50 Year 7-10 students studying the Victorian Curriculum and the Chadstone Campus with 30 Year 10-12 students where the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and VCE Vocational Major (VM) is delivered.
