🎯 Role Overview

As Marketing and Communication Manager, you will develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans to enhance SCM Group Australia’s brand presence and market influence. This role requires a creative, analytical, and hands-on professional who can effectively manage digital marketing, media relations, content creation, events, and customer engagement. You will work closely with SCM Group’s corporate strategy and the local Sales Team to ensure alignment and maximum impact.

📌 Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Brand Communication

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans in collaboration with the Corporate Communications Team.
  • Manage the local marketing budget and media plans, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Create and oversee the local editorial and advertising plans, including media contacts, ad placements, and campaign monitoring.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with trade press and media outlets to enhance brand visibility.
  • Develop and manage content strategies, including articles, case studies, and customer success stories.

Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Work closely with the corporate web & digital team to manage local social media channels (LinkedIn & Instagram) and local website content.
  • Plan and execute organic and paid social media campaigns to drive audience engagement and brand awareness.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Establish and oversee digital performance dashboards to track analytics and optimize marketing initiatives.
  • Manage SCM Group’s internal communication platform (Interacta app) to enhance internal engagement.

Content & Email Marketing

  • Create and execute email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and EDM initiatives.
  • Publish engaging content for landing pages, news updates, events, and social media.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all local content, aligning with corporate guidelines.

Event & Trade Show Management

  • Plan, promote and execute events (physical, digital, and hybrid) to showcase SCM’s technologies.
  • Oversee all marketing aspects of trade show participation, ensuring maximum impact, visibility, and lead registrations.
  • Organize and coordinate Tech Tours for customers, handling logistics such as agenda planning, exhibition setup, accommodations, and transport.

Customer & Dealers Engagement

  • Enhance customer experience at SCM’s Technology Centres, making them a central hub for customer engagement and product demonstration.
  • Provide marketing support to SCM’s domestic dealer network, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain and build relationships with partners, suppliers, industry members, and customers to expand SCM’s network.

Merchandising

  • Coordinate and manage merchandising activities, including branded promotional items and event giveaways.
  • Oversee the distribution of company goods and equipment (e.g., uniforms, backpacks, branded items).

Internal Communications

  • Support internal communication efforts to foster a positive, engaged workplace.
  • Organize team-building events and internal engagement activities.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications field.
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Expertise in digital marketing strategies, SEO, social media, and content management.
  • Experience in event planning, trade show marketing, and public relations.
  • Skills in marketing analytics, reporting, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools such as Google Analytics, social media platforms, email marketing software, and CRM systems.
