Job Description:
As a Part-Time Town Planner, you will play a key role in guiding development projects through the planning and approval process. You will be responsible for preparing and managing applications, conducting assessments, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with planning legislation. You will also provide expert advice to clients and internal teams, contributing to well-designed and sustainable developments.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage Development Applications (DA), Complying Development Certificates (CDC), and Planning Proposals.
Conduct planning assessments, research zoning regulations, and liaise with councils.
Provide strategic planning advice to clients and project teams.
Assist in community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
Ensure compliance with local and state planning laws.
Review and interpret planning policies, development controls, and zoning regulations.
Prepare planning reports and documentation for submission.
Work collaboratively with architects, designers, and other professionals.
Requirements:
Degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in town planning or development assessment.
Knowledge of NSW planning legislation, LEPs, and DCPs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Experience working with councils and regulatory bodies is an advantage.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
