About the Role:
- Source childcare placements, ensuring compliance with the AMEP contract, working with both parents and childcare centres.
- Maintain and evaluate the provision of financially effective and culturally sensitive childcare placements
Duties:
- Source appropriate childcare services in consultation with Child Care Placement Service Coordinator and place children in care according to the guidelines and timeframes of the AMEP contract with the Commonwealth Government.
- Liaise with parents, childcare educators, and Melbourne AMEP service providers (TAFE and Learn Locals) across the five contract regions to ensure effective placement and retention of both children and clients in the AMEP.
- Analyse attendance patterns and identify factors that impact on attendance. Identify and implement solutions to promote participation in the program that assists with client retention.
- Within the scope of the role, ensure that Melbourne AMEP maintains compliance with the KPIs surrounding provision of childcare to AMEP clients, as outlined in the contract.
- Assist AMEP clients in understanding childcare in Australia by supporting clients in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Work collaboratively with Melbourne AMEP staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain Melbourne AMEP processes and systems for recording childcare placements. Ensure accurate record keeping, including the checking of childcare invoices.
- Implement new processes and systems as directed, while applying continuous improvement principles.
- Coordinate AMEP service providers and monitor weekly client and childcare service attendance to ensure they match. Follow up absences as required and maintain engagement with the AMEP.
- Maintain records and conduct research and analysis to contribute to the production of monthly reports in relation to the childcare service.

Skills and Experience Required:
- An approved qualification and/or demonstrated experience in childcare provision. Demonstrated exposure to government policy and cultural issues in relation to childcare in Victoria will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience working within the contractual requirements of the AMEP/SEE or other Commonwealth funded programs.
- Demonstrated ability for accurate record keeping and attention to detail within a compliance/governance framework.
- Demonstrated high- level organisational skills, including the ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability and experience working with internal and external stakeholders including the ability to raise issues affecting the provision of childcare for Melbourne AMEP, particularly with those from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual applicants are encouraged.
- A demonstrated ability to interpret policies and regulations to comply with operational procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance systems and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination principles appropriate for this position
- A current Drivers Licence
- A new Police Check for the successful applicant.
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee) Card
