About Placement Services:

Placement Services is a specialist unit within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The unit is dedicated to ensuring that every student in the faculty has access to appropriate, sustainable and high-quality professional practice placements. Placement Services works collaboratively to support internal and external stakeholders with high-level customer service to enable seamless placement administration and student placement experiences.

About the role:

Operating within Placement Services, as a Placement Officer, you will provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders that enable seamless placement administration support to the Faculty of Health Sciences.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Ensuring professional practice placements are organised and allocated to Faculty of Health Sciences students in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with university and relevant Government regulations.
  • Assisting Placement Services office staff to ensure that all students meet compliance requirements for professional practice completion. This includes all pre-placement documentation queries and submissions, such as Police Checks, Working with Children checks/ Blue Cards, Immunisations etc.
  • Allocating, monitoring student lists and liaising with placement facilities regarding rosters and liaise with students regarding placements.
  • Utilisizing software packages, including InPlace, to publish information regarding professional practice placements in a timely manner.
  • Allocating placement educators/ supervisors to professional practice placements in consultation with Placement Coordinators and/or academics.
  • Creating and managing contracts for placement educators/supervisors, liaising with People & Capability to resolve any issues that may arise.

What we offer:

  • Total remuneration valued to $98,701 - $106,847 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $83,404 - $90,287 (pro rata) pa (HEW 5), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. A 2.8% increase will be effective from the beginning of the last full pay period before 30 June 2025.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
