Catchment Projects Officer
Contract Role - 5 months
$57.38 per hour

Are you passionate about improving waterway health and managing impactful environmental projects? We're looking for an experienced Catchment Projects Officer working with a Local Council to lead creek naturalisation and waterway improvement projects that enhance sustainability and community liveability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the planning, design, and delivery of creek naturalisation and waterway restoration projects
• Provide expert advice on integrated water management, stormwater, and catchment management
• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and contractor performance to ensure successful outcomes
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive environmental, social, and economic results
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and business cases for project funding
• Work with First Nations communities to embed Caring for Country principles into waterway management

About You:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience in stormwater and catchment management and project delivery
• Demonstrated ability to manage the full lifecycle of projects, from scoping to implementation
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience managing budgets and working within compliance frameworks
• Current Class C Driver's License

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), stormwater harvesting, or reuse projects
• Knowledge of GIS mapping tools (ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS)
• Proven experience securing and managing environmental grants
