About the role

Healthy Dreaming seeks a highly motivated Project Officer to join our Port Augusta, SA team. As the Project Officer for the Justice Reinvestment Project, you will be crucial in supporting our organisation's efforts and the Aboriginal community in identifying priorities and building capacity to bring the local Aboriginal community's voice to the forefront of the Justice Reinvestment project. This is a contracted position based in Port Augusta.

What you'll be doing

The Project Officer will play a pivotal role within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, dedicating their efforts to fostering deep-rooted community connections and engaging with various partners to advance impactful Justice Reinvestment initiatives. This position underscores the critical importance of building and sustaining trust and working in concert with both team members and external stakeholders, including the Aboriginal community, through regular interactions and participatory practices. The Project Officer for Justice Reinvestment will develop and implement strategies promoting inclusivity and equity, ensuring community voices are heard and represented in all projects. This role will require a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by diverse communities. Moreover, the Project Officer will provide regular updates and report directly to the Justice Reinvestment Lead, facilitating transparent communication about project progress, challenges encountered, and potential solutions and outcomes. This position is essential for driving the Justice Reinvestment initiatives and aligning with the broader social justice goals within the community. The Project Officer will play a vital role within a multi-disciplinary team, focusing on fostering community connections and collaborating with partners to advance social justice initiatives. This position emphasises the importance of building trust and regularly working collaboratively with team members, external stakeholders, and the Aboriginal community. The Project Officer will report directly to the Justice Reinvestment Lead. As a changemaker, you will amplify the Aboriginal voice for meaningful transformation in social justice. Justice Reinvestment aligns with outcomes 10 and 11 and the Priority Reforms under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience in project management, with a strong understanding of the justice reinvestment approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Proven track record in community development, with a deep commitment to supporting Indigenous communities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and project management software
