About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance and ensure compliance with Australian laws and regulations. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, managing legal risks, and advising on corporate governance, consumer protection, and leasing agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset and the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal solutions

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain a library of legal templates to support business operations.
• Participate in legal negotiations and provide advice on a range of commercial contracts, with a focus on local purchasing and leasing agreements.
• Prepare and maintain corporate documentation, including registers, resolutions, and regulatory filings.
• Act as an internal legal expert, offering strategic and commercially sound legal advice to support business objectives.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks by developing internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee dispute resolution processes, including liaising with external legal counsel as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an in-house legal Counsel or in a similar role, preferably in the retail or commercial sector.
• Proficiency in Chinese is highly desirable.
• Experience handling commercial contracts, leasing agreements, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and provide practical, business-focused legal solutions.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
