Approach Consulting have been engaged to assist this essential, wholly ACT Government-owned company to find a Senior Legal Counsel to join them in the continued delivery of one of Canberra's lifelines.

Owning billions of dollars in critical infrastructure, you will be exposed to a variety of interesting subject matters, offering opportunities for you flex your legal knowledge, or develop your skillset in others. Joining the Legal and Procurement team, you will provide a diverse range of legal advice and support. You will be responsible for:

Providing advice to the various business units to address and resolve complex issues, including representing our client in litigation, commercial negotiations and other discussions.

Developing and modifying organisation wide policies and procedures as required based on legislative changes or legal precedents.

Managing specialised projects that require preparation of advice in a variety of areas of law as required.

Does your background suit this role?

You are a 5+ well-rounded commercial / corporate lawyer with varied experience and be able to work collaboratively in a small team and build strong relationships and trust across the organisation.
