About the role

Ku-Ring-Gai Neighbourhood Centre Ltd (KNC) is seeking a full-time Accountant (General) to join their team in St Ives, NSW. As an Accountant (General), you will play a vital role in the organisation's financial management and reporting, contributing to the overall success of KNC.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, regularly
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against targets
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and other financial regulations
• Provide support and advice to the management team on financial matters
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field
• Minimum 2 year of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
• Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
• Tamil, Hindi, or Mandarin speaking is not essential but desired
